The route of the Tour of Lombardy has been unveiled: the final is slightly easier, but still very tough

The 2023 edition of the Tour of Lombardy will be held on Saturday 7 October. The route of the "Classic of the Falling Leaves" has been unveiled and, compared to last year, it presents some changes, especially in the final part.

The parkoers of the Tour of Lombardy 2023 will be 253 kilometers long and will start from Bergamo and finish in Como. The first part of the race wil be quite flat, but the riders will face a series of climbs in the second half of the race, including the famous Madonna del Ghisallo, the Muro di Sormano and the Civiglio, which will be tackled twice.

The final climb of the Tour of Lombardy 2023 will be the San Fermo della Battaglia, which is 2.7 kilometers long with an average gradient of 7.2%. This climb is slightly easier than the Colle del Gallo, which was tackled in the final of the race last year, but it is still very demanding.

The 2023 Tour of Lombardy is expected to be a very open race, with several riders capable of winning. Among the favorites are Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Alejandro Valverde and Mikel Landa.
