Former top aide to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, Joe Percoco, has been accused of accepting bribes and other illegal gifts from a Chinese businesswoman. Prosecutors allege that this businesswoman was attempting to gain influence over state economic development projects.
Allegations of Influence-Peddling
The prosecution's case alleges that Percoco, who was also Cuomo's campaign manager, used his position to assist the businesswoman's company, COR Development, in exchange for lavish gifts, including a trip to China and luxury accommodations.
