Flowers hold a special place in the Bible
From the beginning of creation when God planted a garden in Eden filled with an array of beautiful flowers mentioned in scripture such as lilies, roses, and myrrh, to the parables of Jesus where he spoke of the beauty of wildflowers in the fields, flowers have been used to symbolize the beauty and wonder of God's creation.
In the Song of Solomon, flowers are used to describe the beauty of the bride illustrating the love and affection between God and his people. Similarly, in the book of Revelation, flowers are used as a symbol of the heavenly city, New Jerusalem, that is described as a place of beauty and joy.
A Reminder of God's Love and Provision
Flowers also serve as a reminder of God's love and provision for his people. In the book of Psalms, the psalmist writes, "He makes grass grow for the cattle, and herbs for the service of man, that he may bring forth food from the earth" (Psalm 104:14).
