In a thrilling playoff opener, the Los Angeles Clippers emerged victorious over the Dallas Mavericks with a decisive 109-97 win. Despite the absence of star forward Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers were led by the dominant performances of James Harden and Ivica Zubac.
Harden, acquired by the Clippers in a mid-season trade, proved to be an unstoppable force, scoring a game-high 35 points and dishing out 10 assists. Zubac, the Clippers' starting center, dominated the paint with 24 points and 15 rebounds, proving to be a formidable force against the Mavericks' young frontcourt.
The Mavericks, led by their All-Star guard Luka Doncic, fought valiantly but ultimately couldn't overcome the Clippers' balanced attack. Doncic finished the game with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists, but his efforts weren't enough to secure a win.
The Clippers' victory gives them a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 2 will be played in Dallas on April 23.
